Training & Background:

Dr Megan Byrnes graduated from the University of Sydney with a Bachelor of Medical Science in 2002 and Bachelor of Medicine Surgery in 2006. She moved to Perth in 2008 to undertake her specialist training at King Edward Memorial Hospital and her senior training at JHC. Megan specialises in Obstetrics and Gynaecology (O&G) and has a focus on reproductive medicine. The majority of Megan’s work has been in tertiary hospitals where she has gained significant experience in the management of complex obstetric cases including those complicated by medical disorders. She also provides a comprehensive private gynaecological practice including colposcopy service, minimally invasive gynaecological surgery, as well as hysteroscopic and vaginal surgery. She has a particular interest in endometriosis, menstrual disorders, prolapse and vulvar disease. She is the first female gynaecologist in Perth to offer revolutionary CO2 fractionated laser treatment (Mona Lisa Touch) for vulvo-vaginal atrophy.

Megan has extended her discipline into the field of reproductive medicine and completed her Masters Degree in Reproductive Medicine at the University of New South Wales. She is the only female fertility specialist associated with Fertility North.
