Record births at Joondalup Health Campus
May 18, 2015
A record number of 13 babies have been born in one day at Joondalup Private Hospital.
Joondalup Health Campus' recently appointed Director of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Dr Cliff Neppe, said the new record was another indication that more women were choosing to have their babies at the health campus.
"This year to date, we have delivered more than 920 babies at the private hospital, compared to approximately 760 at the same time last year," Dr Neppe said.
"This is an increase of 21 per cent and a good indication that women are happy with the maternity services we provide."
Dr Neppe said public births at the hospital had also risen bringing the total number of private and public births at the health campus to almost 3,500 annually.
Joondalup Private Hospital opened in March 2013, giving people with private health insurance living in Perth’s northern corridor the option of being treated at a first class facility closer to home.
In addition to obstetrics, the 145-bed hospital offers an extensive range of inpatient services including surgery, and rehabilitation, medical and acute aged care across five levels.
