World class private health care facilities open at Ramsay Private at Joondalup Health Campus

Feb 18, 2026

People living in Perth’s northern suburbs now have access to dedicated world class private health care facilities and services following the completion of a major $166 million expansion of Ramsay Private at Joondalup Health Campus (Ramsay Private).

The development is aimed at improving the private patient experience, with a focus on clinical excellence, comfort and convenience.

The expanded facilities were officially opened today by the Premier of Western Australia, the Honourable Roger Cook MLA; the Federal Minister for Health and Ageing, Minister for Disability and the NDIS the Honourable Mark Butler MP and Ramsay Health Care Group Chief Executive Officer, Natalie Davis.

The Ramsay Health Care funded expansion includes:

  • Six state-of-the-art operating suites (including two shared public/private)
  • Two day procedure suites
  • A day surgery admissions unit
  • 30 medical beds
  • 22 surgical beds
  • 30 shelled beds for future use
  • Expanded back-of-house facilities
  • A private kitchen supporting on-demand à la carte service

Ramsay Health Care Group Chief Executive Officer, Natalie Davis, said the opening was a proud moment for Ramsay and Joondalup Health Campus.

"This expansion reflects years of careful planning and collaboration across the campus. It's not just about infrastructure. It reflects how Ramsay Health Care approaches care, partnerships and long term responsibility,” Ms Davis said.

“We are recruiting 150 new employees to support the expansion.”

Ms Davis highlighted Ramsay's commitment to investing in theatre and cardiac catheter laboratory capacity, advanced medical equipment and technology nationwide, including the recent acquisition of 12 surgical robots.

In WA, Ramsay is also investing in building two new operating theatres and two new cardiac catheter laboratories at Hollywood Private Hospital.

This follows the opening of a rapid access state-of-the-art infusion suite at Glengarry Private Hospital, bringing world class cancer care to the doorstep of local patients.

“With this expansion comes advanced surgical technology,” Ms Davis said.

"At Joondalup, we also now have a da Vinci robot, enabling minimally invasive prostate cancer surgery locally for the first time, and two new Mako 4 robots, which are among the most advanced orthopaedic robots available.

“This technology will support improved outcomes for both private and public patients, strengthening Ramsay’s position as a national leader in orthopaedic, cardiology and cancer care."

Ms Davis said the expanded facilities would initially support growth in orthopaedics, gynaecology, interventional pain, ear, nose and throat, and general surgery.

Premier Roger Cook highlighted the significance of the Ramsay funded private expansion for the State.

“When combined with the near-complete $307.9 million State and Australian Government funded public hospital redevelopment, this campus has grown to become one of Australia’s largest and most comprehensive health campuses,” Premier Cook said.

“Developments like the private and public expansions this campus has recently undergone naturally attract and retain high-calibre clinicians and medical professionals.

“This improves the standard of care and creates more health and medical research opportunities for the benefit of the region and the entire state.”

The Honourable Mark Butler MP, Federal Minister for Health and Ageing, Minister for Disability and the NDIS emphasised the importance of a strong and sustainable private health sector within Australia's broader health system.

"The private hospital sector plays an integral role in our national health system, and this expansion together with the Australian Government’s $158 million investment into the recent expansion of public services at Joondalup Health Campus will help deliver timely, high-quality care,” Minister Butler said.

“These expanded facilities at Joondalup will complement essential public services and give the local community greater access to healthcare.”
