After Hours GP Clinic moves to larger facilities at Joondalup Health Campus

Jul 01, 2013

After Hours GP Clinic has moved into larger facilities at Joondalup Health Campus as the hospital grows with its community.
The clinic - open from 7pm to 11pm weekdays and from 11am to 11pm weekends and public holidays - is now located on the ground floor of Specialist Medical Centre East adjacent to the main hospital and close to visitors’ car parks.

“This After Hours Clinic is three times the size of the original facility,” said Kempton Cowan, Chief Executive Officer of Joondalup Health Campus. “The area, which serves as the public ante natal clinic during the day, has undergone a major refit to create a spacious waiting room, 12 individual consulting rooms and two interview rooms.

“Almost 19,000 people attended the After Hours GP clinic during the past 12 months,” said Mr Cowan. “This new facility ensures the clinic can continue to grow with our community in the years ahead.”

The After Hours GP Clinic offers bulk-billing service for patients under 16s and those with a valid pension or health care card. For others, consultations are charged at the standard Medicare rate on presentation of a Medicare card.
